School of Thought UK. Industry programme 2017.

what is it? The School of Thought Industry Programme is an intensive twelve week course and creative competition for people who work in the creative industry and want to develop their ideas skills. The prize? An all-expenses paid trip to Cannes Lions.

what did I have to do? The application process involved writing up what a 'big idea' meant to you, and drawing up several print ads with propositions to target. Selected as one of the 12 on the course, I then spent twelve weeks visiting leading Manchester agencies to hear a talk and be given a creative brief, returning three days later to pitch my ideas back to the respective agencies' creative directors. We were judged on big ideas, and the only rule was that you could only use pen and paper to show your concepts.

results? Well, I only went and won it. Next stop, Cannes Lions 2018! (And yes, they did keep this great photo of me up for the rest of the night.)
